Prologue for ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises’ at Carnegie Science Center

In scheduling showing the prologue of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, Pittsburgh was originally omitted from the list. Ironic, since part of the upcoming film was made in many areas of the city.

However, not only did Christopher Nolan insist Pittsburgh be added to showing cities, but also many film buffs made their displeasure known. As a result, a December 8 announcement confirmed a screening will take place in Pittsburgh after all.

“We are delighted to provide our visitors, both new and veteran Batman fans, a chance to see the opening sequence of The Dark Knight Rises on a giant screen,” said Ann Metzger, co-director of Carnegie Science Center in a prepared statement. “Christopher Nolan and his crew transformed Pittsburgh into Gotham City during filming, and while we miss seeing the Tumblers around town, we are honored to be one of select IMAX theaters to have this exciting opportunity.”

December 16 is the first day the prologue of The Dark Knight Rises will show with Tornado Alley at the Carnegie Science Center’s Rangos Omnimax Theater, a 70mm IMAX theater.
